Common Cause
Fighting for democracy in a fractured nation

Services
Common Cause, a national nonpartisan democracy reform organization with 34 state chapters, partnered with 501c Design to refresh its brand at a pivotal political moment. Instead of a costly rebrand, we created a modernized identity that honored the recognizable star in their logo while updating the typography, color palette, and design system for flexibility across chapters and platforms. From brand guidelines to social media templates, rally signs, newsletters, and a redesigned website, the refresh unified their communications, strengthened their national presence, and continues to save the organization tens of thousands of dollars annually. The brand’s success led to an ongoing partnership: Kerstin now serves as Common Cause’s fractional art director, designing their direct mail, shop merchandise, campaign graphics, and social media to ensure a consistent and impactful voice across all channels.

Kerstin doesn’t do buzzwords, she delivers creativity and brings a little more order to the world each day on every project. Successful creative partnerships make each iteration of a project better and are always open to inspiration. Kerstin sees connections and communicates complex policy issues in ways that respect people’s intelligence and gives them just what they need to advance their thinking.”
